Jean Drummond is a proud mom, devoted wife, serial entrepreneur, motivational speaker, former clinician and 2x published author. As a health care professional committed to improving the quality of health for all, especially vulnerable populations, she is guided by her servant leadership model.
As a former clinician, she is particularly focused on strategies to translate current healthcare policy implications and their impact on providers as they deliver care to the most vulnerable. With $400.00 on her mother’s credit card and her dream, Jean started HCD International (HCDI) in 1991. Three decades later, the company has grown to a thriving business with over 200 employees from 20 different countries that speak 23 unique languages. She began HCDI after a successful career as a practicing clinician. In the midst of a rapidly transforming healthcare delivery system, Jean assists physicians to make data driven health care decisions to improve their practice model. She provides executive oversight on national, state and local quality improvement and population health initiatives across multiple markets within the health and social service sectors.
Jean believes in giving back to the community and works to support health plans to increase market share and improve quality, every day. Among her many accomplishments, she has designed and launched a proven methodology known as the Parachute Model, a broad, macro-level approach that targets a population in a specific geographic location to improve health outcomes and lower cost. Her parachute model methodology has been utilized in the industry for over 10 years and has largely contributed to HCDI’s national success across its portfolio of services.
She holds a bachelor’s degree as a Physician’s Assistant from Howard University and earned her Master’s Degree in Public Administration in Health Care Management from Bowie State University. She is also a devout mother of three and wife to Dr. Jimmie Drummond, a Veteran with the US Air Force. Recognizing her divine purpose in life, Jean realizes her success rests in giving the greatest gift of all – love and service to mankind.
