The Dove House

The Dove House will be a place called home for the healing, hope and help for single moms with 1 or 2 children who are in need of temporary housing, employment assistance and parenting support. Dove House will provide a caring, healthy and value-centered environment that offers social and family service supportive programming that addresses:

  • Self esteem and life skills
  • Healthy parenting skills
  • Educational opportunities
  • Job readiness and employment support
  • Skills development and career counseling

Qualified applicants will be screened, and accepted into Dove House program twice annually: January and July. Each participant will have a customized self improvement plan that includes self-awareness, life skills, parenting, education and job development strategies, that must be completed within a pre-set timeline not to exceed 36 months. Each participant will also complete a healthy eating, cooking, housekeeping, financial literacy, child development, parenting, dating course and will be required to declare and pursue a hobby or interest.

Weekly requirements include

  • Meeting with counselors
  • Strict adherence to self development plan 
  • Meal planning & cooking at least once a week for the families in the Dove House
  • Eating with family at least 5 times a week
  • Engaging in one family activity  
  • Cleaning individual space and general space
  • Attending financial literacy class 

Dove House contributions and donations are 100 percent charitable. These donations further Dove House’s purpose an effort to support those most in needs, such as single moms and their young children.  All participants will be required to ‘give back’ to Dove House upon completion of the program.
